Morgen! Schön frisch heute, die Tomaten. Soll ich Ihnen was abgeben?
Morning! Nice and fresh today, the tomatoes. Should I put some aside for you?
- Käufer
Guten Morgen! Ja, die sehen toll aus. Was kosten die Tomaten?
Good morning! Yes, they look great. What do the tomatoes cost?
- Marktfrau
Three fifty a kilo. For you today: three euros, since I'm closing at one anyway.
- Käufer
Sehr gern. Geben Sie mir bitte ein Kilo. Und woher kommen die Tomaten eigentlich?
Very gladly. Please give me a kilo. And where do the tomatoes actually come from?
- Marktfrau
From the Markgräflerland, from a farm my brother knows. Everything regional, nothing from the greenhouse.
You can tell — they smell like my grandmother's garden. Do you also have mushrooms?
- Marktfrau
Button mushrooms and porcini. The porcini are more expensive, but unbeatable for a risotto.
Then I'll take button mushrooms, because those are enough for today. A pound, please.
- Marktfrau
Would you like some apples too? The last ones from our own tree — sweet and firm, not mealy.
- Käufer
Mehlig mag ich wirklich nicht. Geben Sie mir sechs davon. Was mache ich zusammen?
I really don't like mealy. Give me six of them. What do I owe altogether?
- Marktfrau
Tomaten drei Euro, Champignons zwei achtzig, Äpfel zwei Euro sechzig — acht Euro vierzig, sage ich mal.
Tomatoes three euros, mushrooms two eighty, apples two sixty — eight forty, let's say.
- Käufer
Hier, bitte.
Here you go. And can you give me a tip — how do I recognize good mushrooms?
- Marktfrau
Look at the underside: if the cap is still closed, they're fresh. Open means old or lots of water.
- Käufer
Wieder etwas gelernt! Vielen Dank und bis nächsten Samstag!
Learned something again! Many thanks and until next Saturday!
- Marktfrau
Until then! And think of the apples — next week they'll be gone!
