- Neue Kollegin
Hallo!
Hello! You're Martin, right? I'm Aisha; I started in the marketing department on Monday.
- Martin
Hallo Aisha, willkommen! Ja, ich sitze gleich um die Ecke. Wie sind Ihre ersten Tage bisher gelaufen?
Hello Aisha, welcome! Yes, I sit right around the corner. How have your first days gone so far?
- Neue Kollegin
Ziemlich gut, ehrlich gesagt.
Pretty well, honestly. Everyone was friendly, but I have to admit I don't quite understand the processes yet.
- Martin
That's completely normal — it took me two months too. Feel free to ask a lot; nobody here thinks that's weak.
- Neue Kollegin
That's good to hear. And where are you from? If I understood correctly, you're not from here?
- Martin
Right, I'm from Kiel, but I worked in Hamburg for a long time before moving here. And you? Your accent sounds interesting.
- Neue Kollegin
I grew up in Tunis and later studied in Lyon. German is actually my third language.
- Martin
Dritte Sprache?
Third language? Impressive — I can barely keep up my school French. What helped you most at the beginning?
- Neue Kollegin
Watching series, I think, and talking with people who were patient. Books came later, once I had more confidence.
- Martin
That makes sense. Do you already know there's a language group in this building? It meets on Wednesdays during lunch break.
- Neue Kollegin
No, I didn't know that — I'll check it out! If it fits, I'll come by tomorrow directly.
- Martin
Sehr gern.
Very gladly. And in case you're looking for someone for lunch: our group usually eats together at one. You're invited anytime.
- Neue Kollegin
Das ist wirklich nett, danke! Dann bis morgen um eins?
That's really kind, thanks! Then see you tomorrow at one?
- Martin
See you at one. And once more: reach out if anything is unclear — better to ask too much than too little.
