Vereinsheim (club house) des Tennisvereins — Monday evening · 15 Zeilen · ~1 Minuten

  1. Vereinsmitglied

Guten Abend!

Good evening! You called about a membership, right? I'm Rolf; I run the adult courts here.

  2. Interessentin

Good evening, yes exactly, thanks for the time. I started tennis a month ago and am now looking for a club where I can play regularly.

  3. Vereinsmitglied

Very nice. How would you describe your level — have you already played points, or mostly done basic training?

  4. Interessentin

Eher Grundtraining.

Mostly basic training. I can keep the ball in play, but my serve is still shaky. That's why I'm also looking for training with a coach.

  5. Vereinsmitglied

No problem, we have two beginner groups for that. What would be more important to you: fixed training during the week or flexible court time on weekends?

  6. Interessentin

Both, honestly. Fixed training gives me structure, but I'd also like to be able to just play with someone.

  7. Vereinsmitglied

Trainingsstunden zahlt man pro Termin, zehn Euro.

That would be included in our model. Membership costs eighteen euros a month, plus a one-time thirty-euro joining fee. Training sessions are paid per date, ten euros.

  8. Interessentin

And are there duties I should know about? At some clubs you have to help out at tournaments, for example.

  9. Vereinsmitglied

Gute Frage.

Good question. We ask each member for two helper hours a year — at the summer festival, for example. Anyone who can't manage that can pay twenty euros instead.

  10. Interessentin

That seems fair to me. Can I first do two trial sessions before signing a contract?

  11. Vereinsmitglied

Of course — the first session is even free. Come by on Thursday at six and we'll introduce you to the group. See whether the chemistry is right.

«Schauen Sie, ob die Chemie stimmt» — whether the chemistry is right — Germans love this idiom for group fit.

  12. Interessentin

Das mache ich gern. Muss ich irgendwas mitbringen — Schuhe, Kleidung?

I'll gladly do that. Do I need to bring anything — shoes, clothing?

  13. Vereinsmitglied

Sports shoes with a light-colored sole, that's the most important thing. You can borrow rackets at the desk until you have your own.

  14. Interessentin

Wonderful, then see you Thursday. I'm curious what the group is like.

  15. Vereinsmitglied

Until Thursday! And don't worry about the serve — that's the first thing we'll work on, promised.
